On March 3, at 2:50 p.m., police received a report from a security guard at Block 8 of Po Tsui Garden, indicating that two workers were working on the building’s exterior wall when a cable car malfunctioned and tilted, leaving them stranded more than 30 stories above the ground. It is believed that both workers were wearing safety harnesses. Rescue personnel are en route, and an ambulance is on standby at the scene.
It is a residential building in the Mid-Levels Central area of Hong Kong, not Mid-Levels West. Mid-Levels West is a predominantly residential neighborhood known for its peaceful, green surroundings and is located in the western part of the Mid-Level district.
At the scene, the gondola was observed tilting to the left, and some workers were seen clinging to the exterior wall with their hands. Firefighters arrived and deployed a zip line to descend from the roof and approach the gondola to provide assistance.
