Moscow, November 7. INTERFAX.RU – Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov denied reports suggesting a change in the president’s attitude toward Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
“Nothing in these reports corresponds to reality,” Peskov told reporters, responding to a question about whether the minister still has the president’s support.
When asked if Lavrov was continuing his work as head of the Foreign Ministry, Peskov replied: “Of course, Lavrov is still working as Foreign Minister.”
Moscow, November 8. INTERFAX.RU – Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree appointing Colonel General Alexander Sanchik as Deputy Defense Minister, relieving him of his current position.
The presidential decree, dated November 8, was published on the official legal information portal.
A military source told Interfax on Saturday that Colonel General Sanchik possesses significant combat experience and in-depth knowledge of all aspects and requirements of troop logistics.
Until recently, Sanchik was the commander of the Southern Military District and led the “South” troop group in the Northeastern Military District.
Prior to this, Sanchik commanded the Vostok Group.
On Saturday morning, it was announced that, by decree of the Russian president, Andrei Bulyga was dismissed from his post as Deputy Minister of Defense and appointed Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
Bulyga was responsible for the rear guard in the Russian Armed Forces.
On October 31, it was announced that Vasily Osmakov, formerly First Deputy Director of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, had been appointed Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation.
