Rockstar Games has officially announced another delay to the release date of Grand Theft Auto VI. Originally slated for May 2026, fans will have to wait six more months: the new official date is November 19, 2026.
The studio announced the delay on its official website, explaining that the decision is necessary to bring the project to the highest level of quality. The developers emphasized that these additional months will allow them to ensure the game fully meets the expectations and demands of its loyal audience.
Rockstar also thanked players for their continued patience and support. Despite the delay, the studio expressed its excitement that players will soon be able to explore the vast expanses of the fictional State of Leonidas and visit a modern version of Vice City.
This is not the first time the project’s release date has been changed. The game was initially slated for release in the fall of 2025, but was later delayed to May 2026.
GTA VI is already confirmed for next-generation consoles: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PC version has not yet been officially announced. However, following Rockstar Games’ usual practice, the PC release is expected within a year of the console debut.
