Real Madrid’s French striker, Kylian Mbappé, took advantage of Saturday’s visit to Valencia (4-0) to add two goals to his La Liga tally, which now stands at 13. Watch the video of his brace.
With two goals, Kylian Mbappé capitalized on Real Madrid’s resounding victory against Valencia on Saturday (4-0) to score a brace and consolidate his lead in the La Liga scoring charts. The French striker lived up to the Golden Boot he was officially awarded this week by opening the scoring from the penalty spot (19th minute) before finishing off a cross from Arda Güler (31st minute).
The French captain could even have scored a hat trick in the first half, but instead, he opted to “gift” Real Madrid’s second penalty to Vinicius, who missed it (43rd minute). In the 21st century, only Cristiano Ronaldo had started a La Liga season with Real Madrid with at least 13 goals after 11 matchdays (13 in the 2011-2012 season, 20 in 2014-2015). Mbappé has also scored in 10 of his 11 league games this season, and only Mallorca has managed to keep a clean sheet against him (2-1, on August 30).
