They express their grief: “I didn’t know he had cancer.” Lee Chin-na and her husband also attended to pay their respects.
The funeral of the late director Yan Zhengguo was recently opened for mourning, attracting great attention. Artists Huang Shanghe and Li Qianna paid tribute for two consecutive days, as did friends from the series “Ganghead,” such as Wang Shixian and Gu Bin.
However, some self-proclaimed fans crashed the funeral and posted photos, sparking outrage among the family. Two weeks before his death, Yan Zhengguo continued to respond to his friends’ concerns and participate in his favorite races. Despite his poor health, he persevered and eventually passed away from lung adenocarcinoma, a tragic outcome.
Artists Huang Shanghe and Li Qianna attended Yan Zhengguo’s funeral for the second consecutive day at noon on the 9th, wearing black baseball caps and face masks. They greeted the media upon entering, but did not stay long. Later, Wang Shixian and Gu Bin, Yan Zhengguo’s friends from the TV series “Ganghead,” also arrived to express their condolences.
In an interview, Wang Shih-hsien stated that he only learned from a friend that Yan Zhengguo had been diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma last year, after his death, “because we hadn’t seen each other for over a year and we were all busy.” He lamented that the news was “so sudden and unexpected, that sometimes I can’t believe it.” Gu Bin mentioned that he and Yan Zhengguo exchanged greetings during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Yan Zhengguo usually responded promptly to messages, but hadn’t responded in recent days.
Yan Zhengguo’s last voicemail before his death was also revealed. More than two weeks before his death, he responded to his appreciative friends: “Thank you, thank you. You should take care of your family and your elders first. I’m fine, fine. Thank you.” At the time, he also participated in his favorite running event.
In the September 20th race, Yan Zhengguo wore a baseball cap and a smile, displaying high spirits. However, his cheeks were visibly sunken and his figure was thin. His fellow runners deeply mourned his passing. His dedication to his goal, despite his illness, during his final moments was truly moving.
